My gorgeous baby girl Salem died on Monday... I'm still very unsure what to do with myself about it. You hear... "it's just a cat" Well this "just a cat" was my only companion through some of my hardest times and made the last 9 years of my life so complete. She was always there... always.

Meowing for food as soon as I woke every morning... missing that. Purring in my ear as she slept on me every night... missing that. Having her shadow my every move... meowing at the door if I don't wait for her to follow me into my room before i close it... missing that... missing her... missing every little tiny thing she did... I just want to hold her again. Knowing that I can't do that again is killing me...

We recently moved house... she's been so happy here since we moved. Tuesday after it happened I was unpacking boxes... and I just seemed to find everything of hers... her little sheepskin rug she loved to sleep on beside my computer... her photos... her little harness and lead for her outside trips...

I keep being told to just think of the good times... and I try... but all I can think is that I let her down... I miss her so much...

for a long time now i have been talking to friends about getting a tattoo done for salem, either of her or of a likeness of her, because of how close her and i were. in light of the recent events it's definately going to be done. my problem is that traditional art wise, inspiration has been lacking for a long time now, so i was thinking of a contest of sorts.

i don't get alot of activity on my page, so i'm guessing this is going to be rather slow going on the submissions part, but i don't mind how long it takes because i want it to be just right.

there's only going to be one prize of course, because i'll only be getting one tattoo, and i can't afford much so it's only going to be a years subscription. but i will also be considering giving small gifts, if i can afford it, to entries i think deserve it, but aren't what i want to use for the tattoo. the winner of course mustn't mind me using it for a tattoo, if that is a problem it's probably best you don't do it.

i have alot of photos on my comp if anyone wants any reference pics, plus i'd prefer if she had little black wings as well.

and there isn't going to be a set end date, since i really don't want to end it at a certain time and just pick any, it will probably keep going till i see the one i want. if someone submits something and it isn't what i'm looking for you will be let know as soon as i know.

i know this is quite different to most of the contests i've seen on DA, perhaps i just haven't seen many, but it's just how i want it.
